Saturday 3rd January 2026. Happy new year

First swim of 2026 and first swim of January penguin challenge.

Air temperature was -1 and the water was 2.6 degrees! The coldest for me so far. Thank god I bought some thicker swim gloves!

Managed 350m, before I had to get out due to it being so 🥶

Had some after shakes whilst trying to get changed and was still very cold when i got home. It took a while to get warm today!

Highlight of the swim was two swans swimming across my path so had to slow down to let them pass.

I've been warned that January and February are the toughest months which will make it hard to get to 3000m but I'll do my best!! May have to sneak some midweek swims in!
