I had a late night last night and felt off colour this morning to the point I nearly didn't go for my swim but I pushed myself as I had been looking forward to it. I was also achy from my bike ride yesterday and my arms and upper back were stiff.
I am so glad I did!
Entering the lake, one of the ladies coming back from her swim asked if I was praying 🤣
I was bracing myself and I always walk gingerly down the jetty so I don't lose my footing.
The water was a tad warmer at 12.5 degrees this week and I extended my course and swam 650m, which to add to last week's effort means I have hit my first month's target of 1000m for Gold penguin and exceeded it by 50m.
I really want to increase my distance each time as I easily do 500m and reckon I could potentially double it. I just need to believe in myself.
I didn't 'dip' for the polar bear challenge as I didn't bring my dry robe lakeside but I will definitely be dipping next Saturday at Sale marina which means I only need to squeeze in one more before the end of the month which I'm sure I will do.
My daughter came with me today and acted as my photographer and cheerleader. Just a shame I can't convince her to swim with me.
As I was swimming back, the sun was beating down and was so lovely!
Cant wait for swim number two for this weekend, tomorrow at three sisters.
